KANCHEEPURAM, JAN.30. Volunteers of the Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam (TPDK) including its president, Kolathur Mani were arrested near the taluk office here today when they came in a procession from Rangasamy Kulam to go to Kamakshi Amman temple in a move to enter the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, defying the regulatory order which is in force in the town. The arrested included Anoor Jagadeesan, former Minister and Kovai Ramakrishnan of the TPDK. A few women in the proceession carried their kids with them. All the arrested were released later. Meanwhile, about 100 members belonging to the Hindu Munnani gathered at the Kamakshi Amman temple this morning and broke coconuts in front of the `Dwajasthambam' and offered prayers to the deity.
