Our Special Correspondent from New Delhi reports: The 17-year-old Karan Rastogi has been taken into the Indian Davis Cup squad, as a reserve, for the Asia-Oceania group `I' tie against New Zealand to be played on indoor carpet in Invercargill, New Zealand, from February 6 to 8.

"We consulted the captain Leander Paes and the chairman of the selection committee Mr. Shyam Minotra while arriving at the decision'', said the secretary general of the All India Tennis Association (AITA), Mr. Anil Khanna. Karan was quoted as saying that he was elated to be included in the squad, and that the news lifted his morale when he was disappointed about losing the semifinals in Melbourne.
