HYDERABAD, JAN 31. A project aimed at bringing down mortality rates due to trauma by 40 per cent by shifting persons injured in accidents on national and State highways during the `golden hour' will be grounded in the State soon. The Andhra Pradesh Emergency Network Project is envisaged as public-private partnership by bringing together their infrastructure and expertise for creating emergency trauma care facilities on highways throughout the State. The first project will be implemented for the Hyderabad-Guntur highway following the willingness of Kamineni Hospitals to take it up in collaboration with the Government. It has identified the hospitals at Choutuppal, Narketpally, Nalgonda, Miryalguda, Piduguralla, Sattenapalli, Guntur and Hyderabad for rendering trauma care. The project has received a shot in the arm with the Centre offering financial assistance of Rs. 1.50 crores for implementation of a pilot project to strengthen emergency care on national highways.
