Karnataka girls in volleyball final

CHENNAI, JAN. 31. Karnataka moved into the girls' under-14 volleyball final defeating Haryana 25-18, 25-22, 22-25, 25-14 in the 49th National Schools Games at the Nehru indoor stadium complex here on Saturday.

Tamil Nadu boys outplayed Uttar Pradesh 25-13, 25-21, 25-19 in the boys' under-17 quarterfinal, while the host girls went down to Karnataka 26-24, 16-25, 19-25, 25-19, 10-15 in another quarterfinal tie.

In the boys' under-14 quarterfinals, Tamil Nadu played well to down Andhra 25-17, 25-18, 25-12.

The quarterfinalists: Volleyball: Under-17: Boys: Tamil Nadu, UP, Kerala, AP, Haryana, Karnataka, Uttaranchal, Delhi; Girls: Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, AP, Karnataka, Punjab, Chandigarh, Bengal; Under-14: Boys: MP, UP, Rajasthan, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, AP, Bengal, Delhi.

Basketball: Under-14: Boys: Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Punjab, MP, J & K, Chattisgarh, Karnataka; Girls: Maharashtra, Karnataka, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Delhi, AP and Chattisgarh.
