Kadambotsava from Monday

KARWAR,
JAN. 31.
Kadambotsava, a cultural festival, will be celebrated at the historical town of Banavasi for two days from February 2. The Minister of State for Kannada and Culture, Rani Satish, will inaugurate the festival and give the highest literary award of the State Government, the Pampa Prashasti, to Chandrashekar Kambar. The Minister for Large and Medium-scale Industries, R.V. Deshpande, will preside over the function. The cultural programmes in the evening will begin with a violin recital by M. Manjunath and M. Nagaraj of Mysore. Other programmes are Yakshagana, ballet, concert, and dance.
