CUDDAPAH, JAN. 31. The former Kamalapuram MLA, M.V. Mysoora Reddy, is planning to quit the Congress and join the Telugu Desam Party due to `victimisation' by the former Congress Legislature Party leader, Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, alleges the Telugu Mahila State president, Nannapaneni Rajakumari. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, she maintained that Dr. Mysoora Reddy planned to quit the Congress on being vexed with Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy's actions. Dr. Mysoora Reddy was keen on joining the TDP as he was `insulted' by the CLP leader who stripped him of the CLP secretaryship and lack of intervention of AICC leaders in this regard, she maintained. She too was a `political victim' of Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy when she sailed with the Congress for 18 years, Ms. Rajakumari said. Referring to reports that the former Minister, D.L. Ravindra Reddy, was also planning to join the TDP, she observed that he too was a similar `victim.' Ms. Rajakumari asserted that she would never leave the TDP as she was given due recognition by the party president, N. Chandrababu Naidu. The Telugu Mahila president criticised the All India Mahila Congress president, Rita Bahuguna, and the AICC leader, Ghulam Nazi Azad, for accusing the Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, of being `anti-women.' Mr. Naidu gave party ticket to over 40 women, irrespective of reservations to Assembly segments, 30 of them won and six were inducted into the State Cabinet. On the other hand, the Congress gave Assembly ticket only to 26 women candidates, Ms. Rajakumari said. Deploring the Congress leaders' charge that Mr. Naidu `hijacked' the DWCRA scheme introduced during the Congress rule, she said the scheme was widely popularised by the TDP Government. Stating that she had not yet sought allotment of TDP ticket to the Assembly or Parliament, Ms. Rajakumari hoped that Mr. Naidu would give due recognition to active party leaders.
