CHAMARAJANAGAR, JAN. 31. The Chamarajanagar MLA, C. Guruswamy, said here today that Rs. 200 crore had been spent on welfare schemes in the constituency in the past four-and-a-half years. Speaking at a programme, "Sammukha", organised by the Information Department, he said that work on the district office complex had been taken up at a cost of Rs. 16 crore and Rs. 4 crore was being spent on the Ambedkar Stadium. The MLA said Rs. 25 crore had been spent on a scheme to supply drinking water to rural areas. Foundation stones had been laid for a bus depot, Rangamandira, and Devaraj Urs Bhavan, and Rs. 43.63 crore had been spent to establish a 220 kV power distribution station at Doddarayanapet village. Mr. Guruswamy said Rs. 25 lakh had been spent for the development of Kerahalli Tank.
