CHENNAI, JAN. 31. The sky will be partly cloudy on Sunday with the possibility of very light rain in some areas. The minimum temperature will be around 23 degree Celsius.

At Nungambakkam and Meenambakkam, the maximum temperatures recorded on Saturday were 30. 6 degree Celsius. The minimum temperatures recorded were 23.1 degree Celsius at Nungambakkam and 22.5 degree Celsius at Meenambakkam. The humidity levels stood at 76 per cent and 75 per cent at each centre respectively.

Chosen for award

V. Swaminatha Sarma Research Centre has chosen N. Dharmarajan for its award for his translated work in Tamil on Marxism and Shakespeare. Prof. Dharmarajan translated 20 essays of Mahatma Gandhi to Tamil last year, a release from the centre said.

Annual day

`Silver n Springs' Kindergarten and Grade School, R.K. Nagar, celebrated its third annual day early this week. A former High Court Judge, K.S. Bhakthavatchalam, and the industrialist, P. Obul Reddy, commended the school and its correspondent for setting high standards in education. Former Vice-Chancellor of the Annamalai University T.C. Mohan and the school correspondent Rama Arunkumar spoke.
