Temperature

MADURAI, JAN. 31 . The city today registered a maximum temperature of 34 degree Celsius and a minimum of 23 degree Celsius.

Water level

The level in the Periyar dam stood at 110.80 feet with an inflow of 69 cusecs and a discharge of 250 cusecs. The level in the Vaigai dam was 35.07 feet with a discharge of 30 cusecs. The combined Periyar credit stood at 1,427 mcft.

Training programme

The Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology Applied Nutrition, Chennai, along with the Department of Tourism, Government of India, conducted a two-day training programme for service providers working in the tourism industry on January 30 and 31.

Those who underwent the training were given certificates and tourism literature.

Yoga classes

A month-long yoga training programme will be organised at the Gandhi Museum from Monday. Classes will be conducted for an hour from 5.00 a.m., 6.00 a.m., 10.30 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. The class, to be held at 10.30 a.m. is meant for women.
