CHENNAI, JAN. 31. The Central Crime Branch today arrested 15 persons from a building at Royapettah for their involvement in illegal betting on horse racing. Police said they recovered Rs. 2,165, race tips papers and notebooks on races held in almost all States. Among the arrested was Naresh Kumar, whose father, Krishnamurthy, was allegedly running the set up. Police were looking out for Krishnamurthy and the owner of the building, Nasrunnisa Begum. The CCB said they offered tips over telephone to those who bet on horse racing.
