Governor, CM greet Muslims on Bakrid

HYDERABAD, FEB.1. The Governor, Surjit Singh Barnala, on Sunday extended his greetings to all Muslims on the eve of Id-ul-Zuha on Monday.

In a message, he said that Bakrid symbolises sacrifice, absolute devotion to God and compassion for the poor. "This occasion reminds us once again of the need to foster peace and harmony among all and to care for the deprived and the underprivileged in our society.''

In his message, the Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, said Id symbolised dedication, devotion, sacrifice, compassion and brotherhood. He greeted the Muslim brethren a happy festival.

The Pradesh Congress Committee president, D. Srinivas, in a message, wished a happy, prosperous and peaceful Id-ul-Zuha.
