KOCHI, FEB. 1 . The Minister for the Welfare of Backward and Scheduled communities, M.A. Kuttappan, today said that 19,002 hectares of forestland would be allotted to tribals as soon as the Central Forest and Environment Ministry gave its final approval. He was inaugurating a programme on tribals at Pinavoorkuzhi in Kuttampuzha grama panchayat, near here. He said the final approval of the Central Government was expected in two weeks. The Minister said the Government would give possession certificates to all tribals living on forestland. The Minister also inaugurated the park constructed by the Ernakulam District Child Welfare Council and the electrification programme of the tribal colony. A.K. Mani, MLA, presided over the function.
