AVS joins TDP

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD, FEB. 1. Telugu film comedian and character artiste, A. V. Subramaniam, popularly known as AVS, joined the Telugu Desam Party in the presence of its president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, at the NTR Bhavan here today.

AVS told reporters after addressing a training camp for the TDP's publicity secretaries that he was attracted to the ruling party by the reforms undertaken by the Chandrababu Naidu Government and its development path. He had worked for the party by campaigning for it in the last Assembly elections following which Mr. Naidu had invited him to join the TDP.

Earlier, the TDP chief asked his publicity secretaries to become more media-savvy by being fully equipped with relevant information while addressing press conferences, avoiding getting irritated by inconvenient questions and ensuring that the body language was proper. They should, in particular, attune themselves to the requirements of television whose role was increasing in influencing the voters' mindsets.
