`Feel-good factor is a mere slogan'
RAIPUR,
FEB. 1.
Dismissing the `feel-good factor' as a mere BJP slogan, the RSS leader, Govindacharya, today said it was part of the image war and should not be taken seriously.
He told reporters and that he would not renew his BJP membership.
The economic reforms had not yielded results in the last 13 years. Poverty had increased with unemployment and there was no significant increase in foodgrains production or investment. Pointing out that policy should be centered round the most underdeveloped people, the RSS leader said globalisation was ``anti-nature and anti-people'' and it would not solve poverty and hunger. The alternative was localisation and decentralisation down to the district level.
The political scene had diverted from issues and values and had been reduced to opportunist alliances. "The current democracy is less people (lok) and more bureaucracy (tantra) and in politics there is more raj (power) and less niti (principles)," he said.
To a question whether his statements would not go against the ruling BJP, he said his intentions were not to influence the ruling party or the opposition.
