THIRUVANANTHAPURAM. Feb. 1. A rock show, comedy programme, and medley dance numbers brought the curtains down on the three-day `Tech-a-Break-2004' organised by the Technopark on Saturday night. The event got off to a `swinging' start with the group dance competitions on January 29, with all Technopark companies fielding their best teams. While US Software walked away with the first prize in this event, INNAP bagged the second prize. There was also a special prize for Toonz Animation. The second day was set apart for the business quiz, solo and group music competitions and instrumental music competitions. The team from NEST proved that they were second to none in the business quiz, edging out IITMK and Gemini Software to the second and third spots, respectively. While the Softex Company bagged the top slot in the instrumental music, IBS and Toonz emerged toppers for the group music and solo music competitions respectively. On the concluding day, January 31, the tone was set by the carnival games, which commenced in the evening. By seven in the evening, the stage was set for the grand finale the `star show'. Kumar Manikantan, of the Tamil movie Boyz fame, along with new generation music director, Balabhaskar made the techies swing their shoes to the 3-D `surround entertainment'. Variety entertainment was provided by TV show `Cinemala' team and the band, `Mother Jane', led the rock show.
