HYDERABAD, FEB. 1. Autorickshaw drivers belonging to various unions burnt the effigy of the Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, at RTC crossroads to register protest against non-increase of minimum fare in proportion to petrol and diesel fare hike. The unions affiliated to the AITUC, the CITU, the IFTU, the BMS and the TNTUC had been demanding increase of minimum fare to Rs.10 and Rs.5 per every kilometre. If the Government did not respond to their demand, 18 autorickshaw unions would observe fast from Tuesday, union leaders warned.
