HYDERABAD, FEB. 1. Six persons, including three children, have been killed in road accidents in and around the city in the last 48 hours. A three and half a year-old girl, Syed Sana Fatima, who was travelling in an autorickshaw along with her maternal uncle, Tanvir, and grandmother, Habibunnisa, was killed when the three-wheeler overturned near Salar Jung Museum in the early hours of Sunday. Tanvir and Habibunnisa sustained minor injuries. While Fatima's parents live in Saudi Arabia, she resides at Hussainialam with the grandmother. The mishap occurred when the autorickshaw driver suddenly turned the vehicle to avoid collision against a vehicle coming in the opposite direction, the Mirchowk police said. The girl sustained serious head injuries and was declared brought dead at Osmania General Hospital. A girl, Naushim Fatima (13), died and her sister, Naseem Fatima, and father, Syed Anwar, were injured when a lorry at Shaikpetnala hit the motorcycle on which they were travelling on Saturday night. A 13-year-old boy, Mohd. Mudassar, who was riding a scooter, hit against an electric pole near Shanu Gardens under Chandranayanagutta police station area. The victim was a resident of Bandlaguda. An Intermediate student, Shashikant (18), who was pulling his motorbike after it ran out of petrol, was killed when a truck ran over him at Tadbun crossroads on Sunday evening. Shashikant's friend, Naresh, who was accompanying him, escaped unhurt in the mishap. The victim was a resident of Kothapet near LB Nagar. A 35-year-old man, Motiram, died on the spot when a lorry hit the motorcycle he was riding near Katedan on Sunday morning. The Chandrayanagutta police said the victim was a resident of Katedan. An unidentified man, aged 70 years, was killed when an unidentified vehicle hit him while he was walking on the road near Ravindra Bharathi in the wee hours of Sunday. The police recovered a number plate (AP 9 AG 2568) from the spot.
