Pilgrim from Kannur among those killed in stampede

KANNUR, FEB. 2. A Haj pilgrim from Chambad, near Panur here, P.K. Ummar (58), was among those died in the stampede in Mecca, according to his relatives here.

The relatives at Panur were informed of the death in the early hours of today. According to the information, he died in the stampede in Mina on Sunday. His wife, Rukhiya, and the son-in-law, Azeez, who accompanied him in the pilgrimage, were safe, according to the relatives.
