MAHABUBNAGAR, FEB. 2. Two policemen and a district NSUI activist were killed and another was injured when People's War naxalites opened fire near the Town Congress Office in Kollapur town today evening. The former Kollapur legislator, J. Krishna Rao, escaped unhurt in the attack. The naxalite team, which apparently lay in wait, opened fire as Mr. Rao was leaving. His gunmen, Homla Naik and M. Venkat Reddy, were killed while P. Madan Kumar, a lecturer in a private college and NSUI activist, died while being shifted to a hospital. The car driver, Srinivas, was injured.
