Woman paraded half-naked in U.P. village

GHAZIABAD, FEB. 3. In the second incident of atrocities against women in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahar district within a month, a woman was allegedly paraded half-naked in a village in the district.

The victim told reporters here that she had taken a loan of Rs. 1,000 from a villager of Siriyal which she could not repay as her husband had fallen ill.

Six youths at the instance of the person, who had lent her the money, came to her house on January 25 and beat her up, stripped her half-naked and took her in a procession, she alleged.

The woman accused the police of not registering her complaint and ``suppressing the matter." — PTI
