KARIMNAGAR, FEB. 3. Simultaneous mini Medaram jataras will be held in various parts of Karimnagar district on a par with the main festival of Medaram Samakka-Saralamma four-day jatara which will begin on a grand scale in the neighbouring Warangal district on Wednesday. The four-day jatara from February 4 to 7 will be held even in Rekurthi, Chintakunta villages on the outskirts of Karimnagar town, Obulapur in Sircilla mandal, Ranganayakula gutta in Huzurabad mandal, Illanthakunta mandal, Godavarikhani, Bheemadevarapally, Husnabad mandals and other places. People, who are not a position to proceed to Warangal Medaram jatara, will celebrate the jatara in various parts of the district. At the Rekurthi jatara, the grama panchayat authorities have made elaborate arrangements for the benefit of pilgrims. A number of shops are coming up near the jatara site giving a festive look. Coconuts, jaggery and fowl selling shops are expected to do roaring business during the jatara as pilgrims offer the presiding deities with the jaggery (bangaram), coconuts and fowls. The Karimnagar municipal authorities have decided to supply water through tankers in Rekurthi for the benefit of pilgrims. In all, the mini Medaram jatara places in the district, the organisers have spruced up the shrines by colourfully decorating the platforms of the presiding deities Samakka-Saralakka. The Singareni Collieries Company limited authorities have made elaborate arrangements for the pilgrims visiting Medaram jatara in Godavarikhani coal belt area. The Singareni coal miners will participate in large numbers in the jatara. The police are also making adequate security arrangements at the jatara villages in the district. On the other hand, the APSRTC Karimnagar region authorities are operating about 350 special buses to the Medaram jatara from various parts of the district. In Karimnagar RTC bus stand, the authorities have put up special pandals for pilgrims proceeding to the jatara.
