Letters to the Editor
Sir, First it was P.A. Sangma then Pramod Mahajan. The latest to raise the foreign origin of Sonia Gandhi is Chandrababu Naidu. Mr. Naidu has also introduced the `self respect' slogan and is advocating a constitutional amendment barring naturalised citizens from holding high office. Let not our politicians for their short-term political gains ruin the chances of so many foreigners of Indian origin.
G.M. Rama Rao,
* * * Sir, Harping on the foreign origin of Ms. Gandhi is nothing but a political gimmick. She is a person whose demeanour is Indian in every sense. Let us at least give her a chance to prove herself.
Anupkiran Kaur,
Chennai
