Letters to the Editor
Sir, I refer to your editorial, "Kerry as favourite" (Feb. 2). John Kerry, Democratic frontrunner for President, initially voted for the Iraq war resolution and later contradicted himself. Other than the fact that he is a Vietnam veteran, his voting record in the Senate has been irregular. A study by the Center for Responsive Politics shows that Mr. Kerry has received more money from lobbyists than any Senator, current or former, dating back to 1989, when the centre first started collecting the data. It is an irony that he talks about special interest groups and common people.
Sridhar Rajappan,
Chennai
