Water grid

Sir, — A national drinking water grid is proposed across the country. The source of supply will be from perennial reservoirs in the north, central India or surplus water during flood times.

The pipelines carrying them can be of high quality steel or pre-stressed concrete pipes. At regular intervals, these pipelines could have pumping stations to maintain a certain amount of pressure. Drinking water can be tapped from these grid lines wherever required.
