Shukla to launch new regional party in Chhattisgarh

RAIPUR, FEB.3. The former Union Minister, V. C. Shukla, who has parted ways with NCP on the issue of electoral alliance with Congress, is set to launch his new regional political outfit in Chhattisgarh on Thursday.

Mr. Shukla is currently the State President of the NCP which will be disbanded tomorrow after his arrival here from Delhi, and the details of the regional outfit would be worked out after discussions with party workers'', sources close to the leader said today.

The sources said Mr. Shukla's decision to have a tie-up with NDA and other matters will also be discussed the sources said, adding the veteran leader also wanted to expand the regional outfit to Vidarbha region of Maharashtra and Mahakoshal region of Madhya Pradesh.

Immediately after the formation of the party, one of his trusted men would take all the relevent documents to the Election Commission to get registration and the party symbol, the sources said. — PTI
