KANNUR, FEB. 3. The Kerala Private College Teachers Association (KPCTA) has urged the State Government to resume recruitment of college teaching staff before introducing the semester system in degree courses in colleges. A press release of the KPCTA Kannur University region here today, announcing the demands of the association's regional conference here, said the recruitment ban implemented in the State in the name of pre-degree delinking was yet to be withdrawn even after six years, despite launching of various new courses in colleges and retirement from service of many college teachers. The conference found that the semester system introduced at the post-graduate level had derailed because of the handling of syllabus by guest lecturers.
