GULBARGA, FEB. 3. The Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, today dedicated projects worth Rs. 136.58 crore, including three bridge-cum-barrages across the Bheema and the first phase of the ring road here, to the nation. He also launched work on some development works. The Minister for Water Resources (Krishna Basin), Allum Veerabhadrappa, the Public Works Minister, Dharam Singh, the Home Minister, Mallikarjun Kharge, the Labour Minister, Qamar-ul-Islam, the Medical Education Minister, A.B. Maalakaraddy, and the Minister of State for Small Savings and Horticulture, Baburao Chinchansur, were present. Mr. Krishna inaugurated the bridge-cum-barrage constructed at a cost of Rs. 16.86 crore at Kallur. He inaugurated the Joladadgi bridge-cum-barrage constructed at a cost of Rs. 27.33 crore near Yadgir, and the Hire Anur bridge-cum-barrage constructed at a cost of Rs. 24.85 crore. In the evening, Mr. Krishna inaugurated the first phase of the Gulbarga Ring Road built at a cost of Rs. 60 crore. He also inaugurated the work on a Rs. 58-crore project to upgrade the road from Shakti Nagar in Raichur connecting the Raichur Thermal Power Station (RTPS) with the cement factories in Gulbarga district to transport fly ash. The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for a Sannati bridge-cum-barrage to be constructed across the Bheema at a cost of Rs. 35 crore, and a barrage to be built at Ingalagi village in Chitapur taluk across the Kagina at a cost of Rs. four crore.
