Cash bag snatched away

Two scooter-borne youth snatched away a bag containing Rs. 20,000 from a businessman, Gopal Das, after hurling chilli powder at him at Siddiamber Bazaar while he was on his way to deposit the money in the Vardhaman Bank, the Afzalgunj police said.

Dies in road mishap

A battery shop worker, Venkatesh (22), was killed on the busy Himayathnagar road on Tuesday evening after an unidentified vehicle knocked him down. A resident of Jangagudem near Shamirpet, the victim was walking on the road along with his father, Bhadraiah, after visiting a relative in a private hospital.

Women relieved of jewellery

Four youngsters barged into a house in Himayathnagar and allegedly tried to outrage the modesty of three women on Monday night. The accused, who were later identified as Sayeed, Amjad and Shabbir, snatched away 6 tolas of gold ornaments from the women and fled when they resisted, the Narayanaguda police said.

Attempt to rape charge

A person, Raju (40), of Uppuguda, who was acquitted from the charge of attempting to rape his stepdaughter two years ago, was arrested by the Chatrinaka police on Tuesday on the charge of attempting to molest his 12-year-old daughter. A native of Rajahmandry, Raju married a divorcee, Santoshamma, a few years ago.
