Payment of water tax

CHENNAI, FEB. 3. The last date for payment of water tax/charges for second half year 2003-2004 without surcharge is February 29, says a Metrowater release.

The payment can be made at the head office, 10 area offices, 69 depot offices and 10 electronic delivery service counters, besides 27 authorised Canara bank branches. The payment can also be made through online at the web site: www.channaimetrowater.com

By paying the water and sewerage tax, consumers can avail themselves of income tax benefit under Section 24 (6) of Income Tax Act 1961, says the release.
