Meat pieces found near temple

BANGALORE, FEB. 3. There was commotion around the Mariamman Temple in a lane off Commercial Street following the discovery of pieces of meat, believed to be beef, near the temple, on Monday night.

According to a complaint signed by the temple pujari, S. Viswanathan, and over 50 residents and traders of the area and handed to the police, there are no Muslim residences in the lane.

The discovery of the pieces of meat was brought to the notice of constables on night beat, who immediately removed them, the complaints said.
