BANGALORE, FEB. 3. A 35-year-old man died of injuries he suffered in an accident involving his scooter on Magadi-Bangalore Road on Monday. Police identified the dead as Puttaswamy of Jai Bhuvaneshwarinagar near Nandini Layout. Murali (40), a carpenter, who was riding pillion, suffered a head injury and was admitted to the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences. They were returning after visiting a person who had given some work to Murali, according to police.
Body found
The body of a 35-year-old man, with his head severed, was found on the railway track near the Cantonment Railway Station on Tuesday morning. The dead has been identified as Muralidhar (35) of William Town near Tannery Road, who was employed in the Geological Survey of India. Police believe it was a case of suicide.
House burgled
Burglars broke into a house in EWS Complex in BTM Layout II Stage in MICO Layout police limits and took away gold ornaments and electronic goods valued at Rs. 1.5 lakh. Police said Shivashankar, an employee of a private factory, and others, who lived in the house, had gone to Tamil Nadu, and they found that the house had been burgled when they returned on Monday. They have filed a complaint with MICO Layout police.
Girl commits suicide
A 17-year-old girl reportedly committed suicide in her house on Gopalakrishanswamy Temple Street in Chickpet police limits on Monday. Police said Padmasri, daughter of Venkatesh, hanged herself when her parents had gone to attend a wedding. The reason for the suicide was not known, they added.
Youth arrested
Venkatesh (19) of Bovi Colony, Ramamurthingar, has been arrested on the charge of theft, and a motorcycle valued at Rs. 21,000 recovered from him. Police say he allegedly stole the vehicle from Shivajinagar.
