BANGALORE, FEB. 3. G.S. Venkataraju (54), principal of the Seshadripuram Pre-University College, who was injured when an attempt was made on his life some months ago, passed away here today. Prof. Venkataraju is survived by his wife, a son, and two daughters, one of whom is an IAS officer. He was injured when his son-in-law, N. Mahesh, allegedly opened fire at him and his daughter on June 8, 2003. Mahesh committed suicide Prof. Venkataraju was the Principal of the college for over 25 years. The educational institutions run by the Seshadripuram Educational Trust remained closed today as a mark of respect to his memory. After shooting at Prof. Venkataraju, Mahesh jumped off the Barton Centre on M.G. Road. Mahesh was an electronics engineer by training, but was unemployed.
