This Day That Age
Prof. Julian Huxley, well-known biologist and author, said in Patna that the need of mankind in the present age was to make efforts to understand the new picture of the universe and apply it to the problems of human life to help man realise his destiny. Men and women with university education had a great responsibility in this regard, he added. Prof. Huxley was addressing a gathering of university students and teachers on the subject of "Evolution and modern thought". Referring to the Marxist theory, Prof. Huxley said one strong point of the theory was that it was based on scientific thought. But it had to be remembered that it was dogmatic and was based on mid-19th century scientific thought.
