BIDAR, FEB. 4. The Backward Classes Development Corporation will soon bring out a special package for the development of the Savita (barber) community. The package will include skill training and easy credit for the members of the community for setting up shops and beauty parlours, Bandeppa Kashempur, chairman of the corporation, said at a function organised by the district unit of the Savita Samaj recently. A person would be provided a tool kit and a bicycle in each gram panchayat limits. Similarly, financial assistance would be provided to open a small shop at the hobli level. People would be assisted to open beauty parlours in towns and cities. The corporation would encourage people from the community to take up professions and business ventures outside the traditional profession of barbers, he added.
