Assistance to poor patients

PONDICHERRY, FEB. 4. The Health Minister, E. Valsaraj, yesterday distributed assistance ranging between Rs. 70,000 and Rs 1.4 lakhs to poor patients to enable them to meet the expenditure for open heart surgery, carcinoma cervix or coronary artery disease in hospitals in Chennai, Pondicherry or Tellicherry in Kerala.

The total amount given to seven patients was Rs. 7,77,500.
