HYDERABAD, FEB. 4. The AP Central Power Distribution Company having jurisdiction over Hyderabad here on Wednesday announced simplified procedures for giving service connections to multi-storey apartments/buildings. According to a senior official, the welfare associations or owners of the apartments/buildings can submit their applications for connections with superintending engineer of the Operation Circle concerned and they need not go to the chief general manager, Hyderabad Zone. The service connection will be released within 30 days of the date of submitting the applications with relevant documents and complying with prescribed procedures. The time-lag will also come down as it will be the office of the superintending engineer of the Operation Circle which will sanction the estimates and allot the work. The divisional engineer of the Construction Circle concerned will supervise the turnkey job executed by the consumers to ensure standards. The officer said once the construction was completed, the Customer Service Centre of the area would arrange for release of the service connection as per approved estimates.
