NEW DELHI, FEB. 4. A five-year-old girl, who was seriously hurt after a speeding Maruti 800 knocked her down outside her Rohini house in North-West Delhi today, succumbed to her injuries at Sushrut Trauma Centre in the evening. Her relatives claimed that her life could have been saved, had Ambedkar Hospital where she was first taken attended to her properly.

It all happened around 4-15 p.m. when the rashly driven vehicle knocked down Shreya, who was playing outside her house at Sector 7 in Rohini. Her relatives rushed her to nearby Ambedkar Hospital where the doctors administered her first-aid and then reportedly referred her to Sushrut Trauma Hospital. Shreya, daughter of one Hemant Aggarwal, was then taken to Sushrut Hospital in a van provided by Ambedkar Hospital authorities, which allegedly did not have any life-saving equipment.

By the time Shreya reached Sushrut Hospital, she had turned blue due to lack of oxygen supply to the brain. She also suffered internal bleeding. The doctors found that there was no pulse. They tried to revive her, but in vain. Shreya was declared dead after a while.
