Gujarat to go in for vote-on-account

By Our Special Correspondent

GANDHINAGAR, FEB. 4 . The Gujarat Government has decided to go in for a vote-on-account for the first four months of the next financial year, deferring a full budget session of the Assembly.

The decision was taken at an inter-ministerial meeting here today, chaired by the Chief Minister, Narendra Modi. Though no specific reason was given for the decision, official sources said it was taken in view of the coming Lok Sabha elections. The Government is yet to decide the dates for convening a short session of the State Assembly to adopt the vote on account.
