BANGALORE, FEB. 4. The Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, has thanked K.C. Pant, Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, for giving in-principle approval for the Bangalore Metro project today. Bangalore Metro Rail Transport Corporation has prepared the master plan for Rs. 4,989 crore project and would execute the project in five years. The Chief Minister has instructed Umesh Bhat, Chairman, Bangalore Mass Rapid Transit Ltd., and A.P. Joshi, Managing Director, to initiate the preliminary work soon.
