BANGALORE, FEB. 4. Educational institutions should focus on catering to the mind, body, and soul of students, instead of being academic, M.S. Thimmappa, Vice-Chancellor, Bangalore University, said here on Wednesday. The Vice-Chancellor, who addressed the gathering at the graduation ceremony of the Bishop Cotton Girls' School here, lauded the school for helping students develop and excel in all fields, both curricular and extra-curricular. "Christian institutions have done very well in the field of education and they strive to impart quality education at an affordable cost," he said. Stella Samuel, Principal of the school, said the school endeavoured to teach the girls that there was a direct link between service to others and one's reward in life. The school had not deviated from its tradition and an effort was made to give students a holistic education. S. Vasanthakumar, Deputy Moderator, Churches of South India, was present.
