Mainly clear sky forecast

The city recorded a maximum temperature of 31.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 17.1 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. The relative humidity was 32 per cent. The maximum temperature recorded at the Airport was 30.1 degrees Celsius and the minimum was15.7 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was 30 per cent. Forecast for Thursday: Mainly clear sky. Minimum temperature will be around 17 degrees Celsius.

Trendsetters for principals

Urban India Ministries says it will launch a Trendsetters' project about a new school curriculum "to reverse the trends of unbalanced homes" at a breakfast meeting on Saturday at Hotel Rama, Lavelle Road. Principals of various schools have been invited. For more details, call 2527 7747.

Mass marriage

Gandhi Forum and Sri Sai Mandira Trust, Rajajinagar, will conduct a free mass marriage for widows and widowers in May. A meeting of the prospective brides and grooms will be held on Thursday at 10.30 a.m. at the Trust, Sri Sai Mandir, Sai Mandir Road. Such meetings will be held every Thursday at the same time till the mass marriage programme. Interested persons can call 23324716.

Power Grid emerges winner

The Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd., Bangalore, won first prize in a competition held as part of an Inter-Power Cultural Meet in New Delhi on February 3. According to a press note said the award-winning item was Janapada Nrityagalu and that the employees of PGCIL's Somanahalli sub-station near Bangalore, performed the dance.
