V.C. Shukla floats new outfit
RAIPUR,
FEB. 5.
The former Union Minister, V.C. Shukla, today quit the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and formed his own regional outfit.
``We have left the NCP and I have been made the president of the newly-formed outfit'', Mr. Shukla, who was the party's State president, told reporters here while christening his group as the Rashtriya Jantantrik Dal.
Stating that he would maintain a ``cordial relationship'' with all NCP leaders while remaining ``neutral'' vis-a-vis differences between Sharad Pawar and P.A. Sangma, Mr. Shukla said ``we will fight the elections under the NDA manifesto''.
Replying to a question, he said ``if the Congress wants the assistance of Priyanka and Rahul Gandhi to do well in the elections then only God can save them.''
He said his party would work in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra and the Mahakoshal region of Madhya Pradesh.
