SFI march turns violent

KOLLAM, FEB. 5. A march taken out by SFI students of the S.N. College here this morning, to protest against a police lathicharge on students in Thiruvananthapuram yesterday, was marked by violence. The students allegedly threw stones at the police who were posted at the college junction. When the police chased them, the students rushed into the campus and resorted to heavy stone-throwing. Two private cars that were passing by were damaged in the stone-throwing. The situation was brought under control as heavy police reinforcements were rushed to the scene.
