HYDERABAD, FEB. 5. The three-wheelers are off the road again. Following a call by the Auto Drivers Joint Action Committee, 69,000 and odd autorickshaws in and around the twin cities are on an indefinite strike in pursuit of their primary demand - fixation of Rs. 10 as minimum fare for first 2 km and Rs. 5 per km thereon. Until late on Thursday night, representatives of autorickshaw drivers' unions waited for some intimation from the authorities for discussions. But officials of the Transport Department were waiting for the drivers to take the first step. The Transport Commissioner, C.R. Biswal, said provided the drivers called off the strike, the Government would come to the negotiating table.
