MOSCOW, FEB. 6. At least 40 people were killed and over 120 injured this morning when a human bomb ripped through a crowded coach of a moving metro train here. The bombing occurred at 8.40 a.m. (10.10 a.m. IST) when the train was heading toward the centre of Moscow between the Avtozavidskaya and Paveletskaya stations, according to the Emergency Situations and Disaster Management Department. No one has claimed responsibility for the blast but authorities suspect the Chechens' hand. Undeterred by the incident five weeks before the Presidential elections, the President, Vladimir Putin, said Russia would not negotiate with terrorists and vowed to crush them. ``Russia does not conduct negotiations with terrorists, it destroys them,'' he said and called for a joint international action against terrorism to ``wipe out the plague of the 21st century.''
