WASHINGTON, FEB. 7. In what could be the scheme of things to come in the very near future, the one-time Democratic frontrunner, Howard Dean, has told his supporters in an E-mail that anything less than a win on Feb 17 in the primaries of Wisconsin would "put us out of the race". The Vermonter has to make some kind of a showing as he runs fast out of cash and supporters are less than forthcoming to write cheques that are needed to keep the campaign going. The question now is whether Mr. Dean will last through the Super Tuesday of March 2 when big states like California and New York have their contests. The Democratic nomination race will be practically out of the way then as candidates should have sewed up most if not all of the 2162 delegates that are needed for the party nomination. "The entire race has come down to this. We must win Wisconsin. A win there will carry us to the big States on March 2 and narrow the field to two candidates. Anything else will put us out of the race," Mr. Dean has told his supporters.
