Cong. demonstration against BJP

By Our Staff Correspondent

BHOPAL, FEB. 7. The Madhya Pradesh Mahila (Women's) Congress today held a protest demonstration in the State capital accusing the BJP-led Central Government of conspiring to tarnish the image of the former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi by "wrongfully'' dragging his name in the Bofors case.

The Mahila Congress workers, led by their State unit President, Shobha Ojha, hailed the Delhi High Court order giving a clean chit to Rajiv Gandhi and at the same time demanded immediate apology from the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee for the action taken by his Government to implicate Rajiv Gandhi in the Bofors case.

Addressing the Mahila Congress workers, Ms. Ojha said that the Bharatiya Janata Party now stands exposed before the people and would be thrown out of power in the coming Lok Sabha election. A vicious campaign had been launched to discredit the Bofors guns, she said adding these guns had played an important role in the Kargil war.
