BIHARSHARIF, FEB. 7. Examination centres turned into battle fields here today as intermediate examinees fought with policemen, ransacked colleges and damaged vehicles after strict measures were taken by the district administration to prevent use of unfair means by students. Police fired several rounds in the air as lathicharge and teargas shells failed to quell violence by the students. Twelve persons, including some policemen, were injured in the clash. Examinations were suspended here following the incident. Police said that hundreds of candidates ransacked the examination centres at various colleges, fought pitched battles with policemen, burnt and damaged several private and government vehicles, including one of the Nalanda police superintendent, Amit Lodha.
