HYDERABAD: The proposed Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council (PHARMAEXCIL) is to be headquartered in Hyderabad. This was disclosed by Venkat Jasti, President of Bulk Drug Manufacturers Association (BDMA), in his inaugural address at the National Seminar on Pharma Marketing, organised by the Institute of Technology and Management in association with the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) here. Mr. Jasti said it would be first such body which would promote exports of pharma industry, and would be set up with a corpus of Rs. 3 crores, which the Andhra Pradesh Government had already sanctioned. The State Government has been requested to allot ten acres near Madhapur for setting up the office. Offices of other pharma bodies such as BDMA, IDMA, IPA and OPPI also would be located at Pharmaexcil, he said.
