KARUR, FEB.6 . R. M. Akhila, a standard V student of Rajah Muthiah Matriculation School, Chettipalayam, Karur district, brought laurels to her school by winning the third prize in the State-level short story writing competition held at Chennai recently. The Shakespeare Institute of English Studies, Chennai, conducted the competition in poetry, short story writing and literary appreciation for school and college students. Akhila's achievement was significant as she won the third prize competing with students of higher classes and college students. The first two prize-winners in the story writing contest were both college students from Coimbatore and Villupuram respectively.
